The refurbishment was completed in collaboration with Strathmore Studio Architects, who led the spatial re-planning of the college’s east wing. Our furniture concept was developed together with Elena Fraser, a Scottish interior designer known for functional studio environments inspired by Bauhaus principles. We introduced mobile studio tables on lockable castors, stackable stools in powder-coated steel, and soft breakout seating produced in partnership with Northshore Upholstery Works.
The colour palette—muted greys with cobalt and rust accents—was created to complement the artwork produced by students. Durable, wipe-clean surfaces were selected after joint testing workshops with the fine arts department to ensure the furniture withstands paint, clay and mixed-media work.
